Brief Description


  • As part of Heidelberg Schools Regeneration Project, the redevelopment project of La Trobe Secondary College involved the consolidation of primary and secondary schools from West Heidelberg. The project involved designing a P-12 school with the capacity of 1800 students while incorporating government proposed Specialist Math Science Centre.


Competencies Demonstrated




  • Work with project architect in assessing project brief & budget, area entitlement and establishing site opportunities & limitations. 
  • Overall Masterplan concept, spatial strategy diagram. 
  • Produce rendered drawings, sketchup images and animation for presentation to client & public. 
  • Schematic design and design development of Masterplan and new buildings. 
  • Scope of design works includes renovate and extend an existing library building. 
  • Coordinate with structural & civil engineer, services engineer, ESD consultants, interior and landscape architects during design process. 
  • Work with quantity surveyor during design process to ensure design proposal and cost plan at different stages are within DEECD committed funding. 
  • Producing & assemble complete set of Contract Documents, including specifications, schedules (including consultants’ documentation) 
  • Observe project architect Helen in administering tender process. 
  • Observe project architect Helen in contract administration process.
